As the war in Israel continues, the stories of courage from the frontlines are many. But too often, one story remains untold: the story of the wives of reserve soldiers. These women, the quiet heroines of the home front, carry the enormous weight of uncertainty, emotional stress, and financial pressure—while raising children, holding down jobs, and doing their best to keep life moving forward, day after day.

For many of these women, their husbands have been away serving the nation for more than 300 days this past year. Their reality is one of holding the family together—alone. And now, Vision for Israel is stepping forward with a new initiative to serve these women who have so long gone unseen.

Take Dalit, for example. Since the beginning of the war, her husband has been called to serve again and again. “When my husband is in a combat zone,” she says, “I can’t really work. I can’t get up, I can’t breathe.” With two small children, no stable income, and constant fear hanging over her home, Dalit’s situation is tragically common. Her son wears his father's army name tag to school. Her daughter doesn't want to leave the house. The economic and emotional toll is devastating.

Dalit’s story is not an isolated one. It is a cry from the heart of thousands of women across Israel — women who feel forgotten, who feel that the system has turned a blind eye to their sacrifices. Their resilience is being stretched to the breaking point.

And this is where you come in.

We are launching a new project to bring tangible support to these brave women. This summer, we will host a special evening at the Millennium Centre for 80 to 100 reserve soldiers’ wives. The evening will include a workshop for healing and connection, a shared meal, and an uplifting program of comedy, theater, or teaching. Each woman will also receive a personal gift to remind her: you are seen, you are valued, and you are not alone.

Each event costs £13,500 ($18,000)—and with your help, we will host many more like it.

And yet, the future of Israel does not only rest on the victories of the past—but in the hands of our children today. Every year, thousands of Israeli children—many from impoverished, at-risk, or terror-affected families—start the school year without the basic supplies they need. A simple backpack may seem small, but for a child struggling to feel secure, it is a symbol of dignity, belonging, and opportunity. When a child walks into class without the tools their classmates have, their sense of self-worth is often the first thing to suffer. That loss echoes far beyond the classroom.

Vision for Israel’s Pack to School project was born from this very need. And this year marks a powerful milestone: 25 years since we first launched this initiative. Since then, thanks to friends like you, we’ve been able to distribute over 300,000 fully stocked backpacks to children in need.

On 1st May, Israel marked her 77th Independence Day—a day filled with celebration, remembrance, and renewed hope. Each year, this day calls us to reflect on the miraculous journey of the Jewish people: a journey of restoration, survival, and the fulfillment of ancient prophecy.

Israel’s story is unlike any other. It is a story that begins in the pages of Scripture—when God promised a land to Abraham and his descendants. For centuries, the people of Israel lived in that land, walked its soil, worshipped in its holy places, and built a society rooted in God’s law. But exile came, and with it, nearly two millennia of wandering. The Jewish people were scattered across the earth, living as strangers in foreign lands, often facing persecution, forced conversions, and expulsion. The modern era brought even greater darkness, culminating in the Holocaust—the ultimate act of antisemitism, where six million Jewish lives were cruelly taken.

And yet, against all odds, the Jewish people returned to their land.

In 1948, after centuries of dispersion, the State of Israel was reborn. For the first time in almost 2,000 years, the Jewish people had a home—a place where Hebrew was once again spoken in the streets, where Jewish children could grow up learning the stories of their ancestors, and where the nation could stand in dignity and strength. Israel’s rebirth was nothing short of a miracle. But as we all know, the journey did not end there.

From its very first day, Israel has been under threat. Wars, terror attacks, economic hardship, and political isolation have been constant companions. And yet, through it all, the people of Israel have held on. They’ve rebuilt cities, cultivated the desert, pioneered advancements in science and technology, and opened their arms to immigrants from around the world. Israel remains a refuge for Jews who have nowhere else to go. It is the only true homeland the Jewish people have ever had—or ever will have.

But while the achievements of these 77 years are worth celebrating, there are still many in Israel who live in fear and uncertainty—especially in the northern and southern regions near the borders, where the threat of rocket attacks is a daily reality. In these areas, families must often race for cover with only 15 seconds’ warning. Children are taught how to drop everything and run to a shelter, sometimes in the middle of the night. Elderly residents, some of whom are Holocaust survivors, are left vulnerable and exposed.

That’s why this Independence Day, we are focusing our efforts on protecting the most vulnerable by installing new safety shelters in high-risk areas. These shelters save lives. They are a literal refuge in times of danger—a safe space for families, the elderly, and children when sirens sound and rockets fall.

At Vision for Israel, our mission is to restore both the physical and spiritual health of the people of this land. Over the years, and thanks to your generous support, we’ve already installed more than 420 bomb shelters across Israel. But the need continues to grow. Each shelter costs £10,500 ($14,000), and every new shelter brings another community a little closer to peace of mind.

Honouring the Past, Protecting the Future

Each year as we sit at the Passover table and remember how God delivered our people from the grip of slavery in Egypt, we also turn our eyes toward another solemn remembrance: Yom HaShoah, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial Day.

This year, Yom HaShoah falls on 24 April, just days after the conclusion of Passover. The closeness of these dates reminds us that the story of Jewish survival is still unfolding—and still under threat.

There are 123,715 Holocaust survivors and World War II-era refugees living in Israel today. Their average age is 87. Many, like Dalia*, are widowed, live alone, and suffer silently. Nearly 90,000 survivors are disabled, and countless others face emotional and psychological challenges that have only deepened since the horrors of 7 October.

Dalia is a Holocaust survivor from Iraq. During the Farhud—an antisemitic pogrom in Baghdad during WWII—she was just a young girl. Today, she is a frail widow, living on government stipends in a modest rented apartment. After a recent fall left her with a broken hip, her life has become even more confined. A foreign caregiver from India now assists her daily, as she struggles with depression and anxiety worsened by the recent war.

And yet, despite everything, she still hopes.

With your support, we were able to give Dalia a gift card for Passover—something that brought a rare smile to her face and a reminder that she is not forgotten.

But thousands more like her still wait.

Even as Holocaust denial and antisemitic hatred increase around the world, especially on social media and on college campuses, we must declare with our words—and our actions—that we will not forget. Not now. Not ever.

We must be the voice of comfort for those who have outlived the horrors of the Holocaust, only to find themselves battling loneliness, poverty, and fear in their final years.

From Exodus to Auschwitz: Standing With Survivors

We wait for the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior, Messiah Yeshua. He gave Himself for us so that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and so that He might purify for Himself a chosen people, zealous for good deeds.

As we reflect on the first quarter of 2025, we are humbled and grateful for the extraordinary impact your partnership has made possible. In a time of ongoing uncertainty and recovery, your support has brought tangible hope and healing to countless individuals across Israel. From financial aid for families affected by war to vital medical supplies and trauma care for survivors, each act of generosity has echoed God’s faithfulness. This report offers a glimpse into what we’ve accomplished together so far this year — thanks to your compassion, prayers, and steadfast commitment.

In January, Vision for Israel placed 23 bomb shelters in northern Israeli towns near the Lebanese border. These shelters were installed in public and central locations such as synagogues, schools, playgrounds, and elderly clubs, providing essential protection during ongoing attacks. Since the project began, 422 shelters have been placed. Many residents, displaced for over a year, are beginning to return to their homes. These shelters offer a measure of safety and hope. We are deeply grateful to our donors whose generous support makes this life-saving work possible.

Donation of Medical Kits in Northern Israel

We donated 64 paramedic kits and 2 advanced doctor kits to emergency teams in Ma’aleh Yosef and Merom HaGalil, northern Israeli regions under threat. These frontline responders protect evacuated towns from both attacks and looting. Council representatives expressed heartfelt thanks for the equipment, calling it “critical” for readiness and safety. The security situation remains volatile, and our support empowers these brave volunteers to act swiftly in emergencies. Your donations truly equip these communities for life-saving response.

Tu B’Shvat Musical Morning for Holocaust Survivors

To celebrate Tu B’Shvat, Vision for Israel hosted 60 Holocaust survivors from Tel Aviv and Modi’in at the Millennium Centre for a joyful morning of music and connection. A musical duo performed with violins, harmonicas, and more — sparking dancing and smiles. VFI arranged transportation and served a healthy breakfast with a dessert treat. Survivors expressed deep gratitude, many attending for the first time. One guest shared, “I’m thrilled that we’re remembered with so much respect.” Thank you for making events like these possible, where dignity and joy are restored.

Emergency Equipment for Gaza Frontline Soldiers

We donated essential gear to a reserve battalion stationed in Gaza, made up mostly of Givati veterans. Items included a solar power station, heaters, ski masks, and more. A soldier, exempt from duty but who volunteered anyway, collected the donation. He described the immense psychological toll of the war, with many soldiers suffering from PTSD. “This donation is our most significant fuel,” he said. Despite a drop in public support as the war drags on, your faithfulness helps sustain and uplift our soldiers in the hardest places.

Before Passover, we distributed aid to 1,200 families across central and southern Israel. Rising living costs continue to burden vulnerable households, and this year we increased the gift card amounts to better meet their needs. Our team personally met many families and heard their stories—stories of hardship, but also of faith and perseverance. With your support, these families will be able to celebrate the holiday with dignity and joy. Thank you for standing with us and ensuring no table is left empty this Passover.

Purim Celebration for Terror-Affected Families

Over 250 children and their families, all victims of terror, joined our joyful Purim event at the Millennium Centre. Children arrived in costumes and enjoyed inflatables, games, crafts, a circus show, and festive music. A delicious lunch was served, along with popcorn, cotton candy, and drinks. Many parents thanked us, sharing how much this day meant during a time of deep anxiety and trauma. Together with the Victims of Hostilities Organization, we created a space of joy and relief. Your support makes this kind of healing possible.

Good Deeds Day – Celebration for Modi’in Seniors

On Good Deeds Day (18 March), we welcomed 60 seniors from Modi’in to the Millennium Centre for a heartwarming cultural event. Guests enjoyed music, dancing, and comedy, lifting spirits and bringing laughter to many faces. A breakfast of sandwiches and vegetables was served, and city officials joined to show appreciation for VFI’s ongoing support of the city’s elderly. These events give seniors not only nourishment but joy and human connection. Your partnership makes this possible—thank you for blessing their lives in such meaningful ways.

Barry participated in the dedication of our newest ambulance donated to Magen David Adom in Tiberius—a fully equipped mobile intensive care unit (MICU). This marks the 13th ambulance Vision for Israel has donated. MICUs offer advanced care even before reaching the hospital, greatly increasing survival rates. In times of war and peace alike, this ambulance will serve the people of Israel with critical, life-saving care. Thank you for helping us respond to urgent medical needs and strengthen Israel’s emergency readiness.

Unsung Heroes: A Tribute to Reservist Wives

An appreciation event was held in Kfar Saba for about 100 reserve wives from a southern battalion that has completed over 300 days of front-line duty. While their husbands serve, these women face the challenges of managing home and family alone, often with little recognition. Awareness of their sacrifices is growing, and Vision for Israel is helping support them. The evening featured a stand-up show, a rich dairy meal donated by VFI, and small gifts to lift their spirits. Barry and Batya attended the event, honoring the strength and resilience of these dedicated women.

Passover is a season of renewal and redemption, a time to reflect on God’s faithfulness in delivering His people from bondage to freedom. As Jewish believers in Yeshua, we see the beauty of this season not only in remembering the Exodus from Egypt but also in the ultimate redemption we have through Him. It is a time of family gatherings, storytelling, and giving thanks for the blessings of freedom.

But for many families in Israel, this season is overshadowed by struggle. Instead of preparing for a festive meal, thousands of parents worry about how they will put food on the table. The ongoing war has deepened financial hardship, adding many more families to the cycle of poverty. Inflation has driven up the cost of food and daily essentials, making it even more difficult for struggling households to observe Passover. Because eating kosher for the holiday requires replacing food and utensils, expenses increase significantly—an overwhelming burden for those already living paycheck to paycheck.

Every year, Vision for Israel provides gift cards to families in need, helping them purchase food and essentials for the holiday. This year, we are increasing the amount each family receives for 1,200 families across the country who are receiving this aid. Yet the need remains great and overwhelming.

The L. family from Yerucham, a small town in southern Israel, is one such family. With three children, ages 5, 9, and 14, the parents work tirelessly to provide for their household. The father, despite dealing with significant health challenges, is studying cooking at a college in Be’er Sheva to build a better future. The mother works full-time as a cleaner, even though she lives with just one kidney. They do everything they can to improve their circumstances, yet they still struggle to afford even the most basic needs.

As we prepare to celebrate Passover, a time of remembrance and freedom, we are also facing a heartbreaking reality in Israel. The poverty rate continues to rise, and many families—especially those affected by the tragic events of 7 October—are struggling to survive. These are families who have lost homes, livelihoods, and even loved ones. Beyond financial hardship, they are battling emotional and mental distress, trying to rebuild their lives in the face of overwhelming obstacles.

At Vision for Israel, we are doing everything we can to bring relief. Our team is preparing one of our largest Passover distributions — providing magnetic gift cards to about 1,200 families. These cards, ranging from £60 to £110 ($70 to $125) depending on family size, will allow them to buy food and essentials for the holiday. But we cannot do this without you.

Take Aliza*, for example—a mother of six who is carrying the weight of her family alone. Her husband, an immigrant from India, is unable to work and takes little part in the household. On top of raising her children, Aliza is also the primary caregiver for her elderly father, who suffers from dementia and requires constant care. Their home is in severe disrepair—broken beds, cracked windows, barely any storage, and children sleeping on mattresses on the floor. The situation is so dire that even social workers, who have seen many cases of hardship, were left speechless.

For families like Aliza’s, every penny goes toward surviving another day. They desperately need support, and we must answer their call.

A Struggle No Family Should Face | Vision for Israel

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." 

Dear Friends,

Purim is a time of joy, celebration, and remembering God's faithfulness. It is a time when we recall how the Jewish people were saved from destruction, and how sorrow was turned into gladness. But for thousands of children in Israel today, joy feels like a distant dream.

Since 7 October 2023, about 20,000 children have become terror survivors—many suffering from deep trauma, both physical and emotional. 1,873 have been injured, 1,884 have lost parents or siblings, and 23 have been left completely orphaned. These precious children have had their sense of security shattered. Instead of worrying about school and friends, they are learning to cope with grief, fear, and unimaginable loss.

One of these children is Ido, an 11-year-old boy from Kibbutz Nachal Oz.

On the morning of 7 October, Ido and his family woke up to the sound of sirens. They hurried into their safe room, trying to understand what was happening. The sky filled with rockets, explosions shook the house, and soon, they heard shouting in Arabic. Within moments, terrorists had infiltrated their home.

Gunfire sprayed through their windows, the electricity was cut, and the family sat in complete darkness. Ido began to panic. His little sisters were thirsty, but there was no water. His parents whispered to each other, trying to figure out what to do. They realized this might be their last day alive.

At one point, Ido turned to his mother and whispered, "Tell me good things." A simple request, but one that speaks volumes. In the midst of unimaginable terror, this child just wanted to hear something good.

By God’s grace, Ido and his family survived. But the trauma of that day will never leave them. Like thousands of other children across Israel, he now lives with the emotional scars of war.

Here at Vision for Israel, we are committed to bringing hope and comfort to children like Ido. 

That is why we are hosting a special Purim celebration for nearly 350 people: children and their families, survivors of terror attacks, at the Millennium Center. We desire to make these children laugh, play, and experience the joy of Purim. They will enjoy:


A specially designed program with theater, arts, music, and workshops

A chance to be surrounded by other children who understand their pain and great loss.

The cost of this event is nearly £21,500 ($27,000), including transportation, all activities, musicians, breakfast, and a freshly cooked lunch.

Every day, tens of thousands of survivors of terror and trauma in Israel struggle to rebuild their lives. These individuals—mothers, fathers, children, and loved ones—carry deep emotional and physical wounds that require compassion, care, and meaningful rehabilitation. Tragically, the resources currently available are not enough to meet the growing need.

At Vision for Israel, we are committed to standing in the gap. For over 25 years, we have served the people of Israel by offering support to those who need it most. Today, we are moving forward with a bold initiative to provide specialized rehabilitation programs for victims of terrorism and violence.

Victims of terrorism experience trauma in different ways—some manage to rehabilitate successfully, while others struggle to recover. The lasting effects of these attacks turn victims into individuals who must fight for their wounded souls every day. Their daily functioning is impacted, which in turn affects families across Israel and influences society as a whole.

Research has identified various methods for treating individuals who have experienced violence, terrorism, war, and other traumatic events. The primary goal is to support those who are mentally exhausted by developing personalised recovery plans that help them rebuild their lives. Our mission is to provide tailored and meaningful support to those in need.

The current situation in Israel is extremely challenging, with entire communities deeply affected by the 7th October 2023, massacre. The demand for psychological and emotional support continues to grow daily, with an increasing number of applications from those in need. We believe this initiative will play a crucial role in healing and rehabilitating the affected populations. 

We have been diligently working to develop effective programs, but their implementation requires significant financial resources. While part of the budget is secured, additional funding is still needed to bring the project to life. Additionally, a skilled team of consultants and professionals in the field is essential to ensure the program’s success.

Protecting and Providing: Your Impact in 2024

“Even to your old age, I am He, and to gray hairs, I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”

Dear Friends,

As we approach Tu Bishvat, the new year of the trees, we are reminded of the promise of growth, renewal, and resilience. This holiday celebrates the cycles of life and the beauty of new beginnings. Yet, as we reflect on this season of hope, we must also remember the pain and trauma faced by so many families in Israel following the recent war in Gaza and the hostage crisis.

The recent ceasefire agreement brought about the release of ten hostages, reuniting families after over a year of unbearable separation. Among them was Gadi Moses, who was held captive for 482 days—a harrowing ordeal that finally ended in his long-awaited return. While we thank God for these answered prayers, some hostages remain in Gaza, and their loved ones continue to wait in anguish for their return.

For those who have been freed, the physical and emotional scars are deep. Survivors of captivity face unimaginable trauma, and their families must now navigate the long road of healing together. The need for support—both practical and emotional—has never been greater.

One story is of Sahar Calderon, a 17-year-old girl who spent 54 days in Hamas captivity alongside her younger brother, Erez. Although she is now back home, her father, Ofer, remains a hostage. Sahar describes her ongoing struggle:
"On the outside, I can look radiant and happy. On the inside, I’m broken. Every day when I wake up, I’m back in Gaza. It scares me to go out. I’m afraid of every stranger I see."

Sahar’s words speak not only to her own pain but to the collective trauma of so many families whose lives have been shattered by these events.

The Katz-Nathanson family is one of many still waiting for answers. Doron Katz Asher, a young mother, was kidnapped along with her daughters Raz (4.5) and Aviv (2.5). Her mother, Efrat, and partner, Gadi Moses, were also taken, along with her brother Ravid.

While Gadi Moses has now been released, Doron and her daughters were previously featured in a Hamas propaganda video, and the whereabouts of other family members remain unclear. For their sister Lior, the uncertainty is agonizing:
"Our house in Nir Oz is still standing, but we have no family to return to. A quarter of our community is gone—kidnapped, missing, or dead. We don’t care about the house. We just want our family back."

These stories remind us of the fragility of life and the strength of the human spirit. They also remind us of our shared responsibility to care for those in need.

Tu Bishvat reminds us that after the darkest of winters, life begins to blossom anew. Just as trees take root and bloom, so too can hope grow even in the harshest conditions. But this process requires nurturing. It requires us to plant seeds of healing, restoration, and support.

Vision for Israel is on the front lines, providing assistance to terror survivors, their families, and the broader community. From trauma treatment to financial aid, we are working tirelessly to bring comfort and relief to those most affected by this crisis.

A Time for New Beginnings | Vision for Israel

Israel is at a crossroads. While the world focuses on the aftermath of war, a quieter but equally devastating battle rages on within the borders of the land we hold dear. Poverty now grips 3 million Israelis, with children and the elderly among the most affected. Rising costs, including a recent VAT (value-added tax) increase, have pushed families and seniors to the brink of survival.

Imagine, for a moment, what this means for someone like Amalia, a 70-year-old widow living in Petach Tikva. Frail and battling multiple health conditions, she lives in a damp, crumbling home she cannot afford to repair. Her children, though grown, are struggling with their own financial hardships and are unable to help.

Amalia shared with us her heartbreak: “I save everything, I do not waste it—because there is no money to buy more. It’s difficult to survive. How is it possible for sick people to reach such a state? We have no way to live.”

Sadly, Amalia’s story is not unique. Across Israel, nearly half of the elderly population faces dire choices daily—between food and medicine, heat and electricity. In households with children, the situation is equally grim: nearly 50% of supported families report declining mental health and educational setbacks for their little ones.

This winter, we at Vision for Israel are stepping up our efforts. Your contributions will support our aim to increase our giving by 20% in 2025. That means reaching more families, more children, and more elderly individuals with essential aid: food, clothing, financial support, and hope.

The year 2024 has been marked by challenges and struggles—grief, sorrow, restlessness, and the loss of countless lives in an ongoing battle. An entire nation cries out for salvation and comfort. Yet, amidst the hardships, there have been victories in battle, a crushing defeat of the enemy, and glimmers of hope. Still, many remain wounded, both physically and mentally, bearing the scars of war. Poverty continues to rise, with a significant growth in the population falling below the poverty line.


Despite it all, we have witnessed achievements in various fields. It is clear that life remains a mix of triumphs and trials, and the cycle continues.

As we look to the future, we pray for a coming year filled with love, kindness, and generosity of heart. Let it be a year where giving and compassion flourish, where the needs of the many are met by the care and generosity of others.

This year, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of Vision for Israel. These have been 30 amazing years of tireless work and dedication. Even in the face of immense challenges, we have seen that when the struggles are greater, the victories shine even brighter.

We firmly believe that the ultimate cure for the obstacles and challenges in life is love—a love that inspires generosity of heart, joy in all circumstances, and hope for the days ahead.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary with friends and partners in the UK and US. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Every year Vision for Israel distributes gift cards for the high holidays to enable families in need to celebrate the holiday with joy, dignity, and a full table. Even before the war began, many families in Israel were in tough financial situations. And now, over a year of war, thousands of families have been evacuated from their homes, lost loved ones, and have experienced trauma from the war leaving many more in need.  

This September VFI provided about 1,300 gift cards to victims of hostilities, Holocaust survivors, soldiers from difficult backgrounds, and welfare families. Our team traveled to many cities throughout Israel to personally deliver these gifts, meet the families, and be a comfort to them.

With grateful hearts, these families thanked us and openly shared about their difficult situations. As we listened to each story, we saw deeper into the many layers of pain and difficulty that the people of Israel are going through right now. Thank you for practically helping these families in Israel continue to celebrate God’s goodness, even during the war.

With the ongoing war, many women who are already in distress, are afraid they will not be able to provide for their children properly, and they seek abortion. VFI donated supplies to an organization in Kfar Saba that cares for women in distress. We were able to help single moms, women with families in need, women in prostitution and drugs, and women who are unexpectedly pregnant. Your donations to VFI have helped provide essential needs for these women and their babies like diapers, bottles, and clothes. The organization thanked us for our priceless cooperation, and we give thanks to God and you for supporting life!

Now more than ever, during the war, Israel needs more ambulances to help save as many lives as possible. Thanks to our generous donors, two more ambulances were donated to MDA this quarter! One ambulance is a mobile intensive care unit (MICU) and the other is a regular service ambulance. Both will provide medical response in central Israel. Barry and Batya attended the dedication event and were honored by the MDA staff and volunteers. We thank our generous donors who have made it possible to present such a large-scale donation that will surely save many lives.

VFI held a free clothing day (bazaar-style) for 250 children and their parents in Rishon LeTzion. We brought a large amount of almost new and second-hand clothes to families who could not afford new clothes. Each family picked out the clothes they wanted and left with several bags of clothes that could be used by the children and parents while maintaining their dignity and well-being.

For many, this was the first opportunity to receive quality clothing after a long period in which they had to make do with what they had. This endeavor improved the situation of many families, and their gratefulness was heartwarming!

As the war with Lebanon has intensified, we have accelerated the placement of bomb shelters in communities near the northern border. Since September, we have placed 59 bomb shelters in northern Israel, bringing the total number to 399. The shelters were placed in public areas, near schools, bus stops, sports stadiums, and parks to help Israelis continue to live their lives during this intense time of war. Thank you for your generous donations that help provide a safe place for Israelis to run to as rockets are launched daily.

Even though the high holidays are over, our help continues as we stand by families in need throughout the year. We provide gift cards to families and increase the amount on the gift cards for larger families of 8 members or more. 

As our team meets with these families, we get the opportunity to hear their stories. Some are struggling with health problems, which prevent them from working and providing for their families. Some have children with special needs, which require high costs for the treatments they need. Others are just struggling with the high costs of living in Israel. And many are reserve soldiers that had to leave their families and jobs, to fight for the protection of the nation of Israel.

As we enter a new year, our hearts are heavy with the challenges facing Israel, yet they are also full of hope for what we can accomplish together. The past year was marked by trials: the terrible massacre on 7th October in 2023, a continuing war on multiple fronts, and the resulting economic hardships that have shaken the nation to its core. Prices are rising, budgets are shrinking, and more families than ever are struggling to meet their basic needs.

Vision for Israel is taking bold action to address the ongoing economic crisis. In 2024, our budget exceeded expectations, and through God’s provision and your faithful support, we met our financial goals. For 2025, we are increasing the budget even further. This is an ambitious step, but the need is urgent, and we cannot wait. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of thousands in need.

Here are the goals we are striving to achieve this year:

Providing greater welfare support: Increasing aid to struggling families by at least 20% to help them face the mounting costs of daily life.

Supplying emergency equipment and bomb shelters: Expanding our efforts to protect communities from missile attacks by placing shelters and distributing life-saving resources to emergency response teams.

Supporting terror survivors and their families: Offering rehabilitation workshops and direct assistance to those suffering from physical and emotional trauma.

Caring for Holocaust survivors and the elderly: Ensuring that those who have endured so much are surrounded with love and practical support.

The numbers tell a sobering story: nearly one in five families in Israel now lives below the poverty line, facing daily battles with deprivation, debt, and despair. Entire communities have been uprooted, and thousands are coping with the scars of war, struggling to find their footing. Without intervention, the economic forecast for 2025 could leave even more families in poverty, and we cannot allow that to happen.

As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, we find our hearts filled with gratitude for each of you. In this time of reflection and thankfulness, we want to share how your support has impacted Israel during this challenging year and look ahead to the crucial work that awaits us in 2025.

Israel is facing one of its most intense times of uncertainty in recent history. There are now seven fronts to watch—Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Judea & Samaria, Yemen, Iran, and Iraq—and every day brings a call to vigilance. We are watching, waiting, and praying for peace, but we are also actively fortifying and protecting lives in practical ways because we know every step counts.

With your help, we have been able to meet an unprecedented need for security across Israel. This year alone from January until October we placed more bomb shelters than ever before, 237 to be exact, ensuring that families and communities can take refuge. Since the beginning of this project in May 2021 we posted 392 safety shelters. We also provided essential protective gear to soldiers and security teams, supplied much-needed aid to families affected by the conflict, and stood with survivors of terror as they rebuild their lives. Thanks to your generosity, a few more ambulances are now on Israel's streets, ready to save lives at a moment's notice.

These accomplishments are a testament to your unwavering commitment and the grace of our God, who is faithfully guiding us every step of the way. We are truly grateful for you, our donors and supporters, and for God’s constant protection over Israel.

In the wake of Israel's high holidays, we enter the month of November with a sobering sense of reality. The new year and the festive joy of Sukkot have given way to cooler weather and the darker, longer nights of fall. In the air, there is a deep melancholy, as we face continuous threats to our very existence. From increasing aggression in Yemen and Iran to the heightened activity of our defence forces in Lebanon and Gaza, nowhere in Israel is truly safe. Every city, town, and village feels the weight of constant vigilance.

At Vision for Israel, we stand firm in the belief that God is with us in these uncertain times. His hand of protection is over Israel, and we trust Him to safeguard us from all evil. As Psalm 91:4 reminds us, "He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge." But even as we rely on His divine shield, we know that there are practical steps we must take to protect our people.

This is why our work continues at full speed. In the face of growing dangers, VFI remains committed to installing safety shelters in Israel’s most vulnerable areas. To date, we have placed close to 400 bomb shelters throughout the southern and northern regions. But as threats persist, it is becoming clear that our efforts need to expand. Central Israel, along with other parts of the country, now faces the same dangers, and we must be prepared to act.

We cannot do this alone. We need your help.

Your support is critical to ensuring that we can continue this vital mission. Every bomb shelter installed represents a life saved—a family protected. When sirens sound and rockets fly, these shelters become sanctuaries of safety. They give parents and children precious moments to reach safety, and they offer peace of mind to those living under constant threat.

Ensuring Safety for Israel’s Families | Vision for Israel

Israel was thrust into the war on 7 October 2023, and now, one year later, Israel is still at war. It has been a hard year for this nation, and yet you have enabled us to serve and come alongside the people of Israel through it all. It has been our joy to pour out God’s love in tangible ways by serving, loving, and providing for the needs of the Jewish people, especially during this last year of war. Let’s take a look at some of the ways VFI has served the people of Israel over these last few months.

Northern Israel has been susceptible to fires due to the summer heat and daily rockets launched from Lebanon. These rockets have hit houses, forests, pastures, agricultural fields, and thousands of dunams, which have caused fires to spread and destroy so much.

With your generous donations, VFI donated life-saving protective equipment to Kibbutz Gonen valued at about £17,000 (NIS 83,000). The gear donated included tactical helmets, a generator, vests, ceramic plates, stretchers, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, hoses, a water cannon, and a fire hydrant. These items helped save and protect many lives.

As we mark the 30th anniversary of VFI, we are reminded of the profound impact your support has enabled us to achieve. Over the last 3 years, your generous contributions have made it possible to install close to 400 safety shelters across Israel. These shelters have protected and saved many lives.
