What’s Next for Israel? Celebrating 74 Years of Independence

Saturday, May 7, 2022

Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.

Jeremiah 32:41

This month, our beloved Israel is celebrating 74 years of independence. However, long before our independence, Jewish people lived in Israel. This land was promised to our forefathers, and in the proceeding centuries, we have returned to Zion as the scriptures foretold.

Even still, our journey as a people has not been an easy one. Persecution, the Holocaust, and expressions of hatred towards the Jews are just some of the reasons that the state of Israel is so important. Our independence allows us to remain true to our culture and faith without fear of retribution or judgment.

Even though this land is ours and we are celebrating 74 years of independence, the people of Israel still face war, terror, and persecution every day. Though we have established ties with Jordan to the east and Egypt to the south, these peace treaties are fragile and could disintegrate if tensions rise in the Middle East. Because of the Abraham Accords, Israel has new peaceful relations and trade with such nations as the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Kosovo, and Sudan.

However, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and others still seek to destroy our land, people, and culture. After 2000 years of persecution, we are still fighting for our freedom.

As we celebrate Israel’s 74th Independence Day, it’s important to remember that there are people who need our help. Proverbs 29:18 says:

Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint;
but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.

At Vision for Israel, we’ve always aimed to work for a safer, healthier place for our communities. We are here because we have a desire to contribute and to rehabilitate the weak and downtrodden in our society. It’s our calling to create a bridge between those who love the God of Israel and the people living in Israel. So far, we have reached over 1.5 million people. Though this is a great accomplishment, there is always more work to be done.

With your help, our friends and supporters, we can continue our vision and make sure that the people of Israel do not perish. We can help build a better community and future for this land, in accordance with God’s will. To help us on our mission, donate here.

Happy Israel Independence to all!

For thus says the Lord: “Sing with gladness for Jacob, And shout among the chief of the nations; Proclaim, give praise, and say, ‘O Lord, save Your people, The remnant of Israel!’

Jeremiah 31:7

Vision for Israel is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity. All contributions designated for specific projects shall be applied to those projects, and we may assess up to 20% to be used for administering the gift. Occasionally, we receive more contributions for a given project than can be wisely applied to that project. When that happens, we use these funds to meet a similar pressing need.
