During this Coronavirus pandemic, a protective mask has the ability to save many people from potential sickness and death.
Over the last few weeks, there's been a shortage of masks in Israel, and those who need them most—people at high risk, especially the elderly, Holocaust survivors and others with preexisting conditions, and our heroic front-line medical professionals—are struggling to get their hands on them.
Our dear friends in Hong-Kong—Israel-loving Christians—have undertaken to help us all, and donated tens of thousands of protective masks for the people of Israel. At Vision for Israel, it is our duty and honor to distribute these masks to those who need them most.
We send our deepest gratitude to the generous donors, and to the Israeli consulate in Hong-Kong for flying the packages to us.
With Passover beginning on Wednesday evening, we wanted to ensure that all people in need are reached before the holiday—and we couldn't do it without the help of those willing to lend a hand and help at this crucial time.
We would like to specifically thank Betty and Asaf, who came to help us and hand out the remaining gift cards to more families in Jerusalem. Despite the traffic difficulties, they persevered—and many more families who anxiously awaited this aid will now be able to purchase their basic necessities for Passover.
During these strange days—when the once-bustling streets are quiet leading up to this major holiday—we are relying on the spirit of giving to those around us, to fill our hearts with joy this Passover. Together, we will do good for these dear families. "When there's a will, there's a way". And when the will is accompanied by a gift, it becomes a blessing.
