“Behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations. They have also divided up My land.” Joel 3: 1-2
“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” Ps 31:24
WARMEST HOLIDAY GREETINGS FROM OUR VISION FOR ISRAEL TEAM: Jews and Christians across the world will join in times of celebration as we usher in both Hanukkah and Christmas this Dec. 24th, 2016. As we light the first candle of Hanukkah in Israel this evening, we extend love and appreciation to all of our faithful friends near and far. May your holidays be lavish with blessings of love, joy and hope.
“It shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” Zech 12:3
Over the years we've had many volunteers who came from all over the world. One of our faithful volunteers, Jenny, came from Adelaide, Australia. She was a nurse and handled all of the medical supplies we received, including distributing them to medical centers in Israel. She loved animals and would have opened an animal shelter if she could. One day she called me and begged to keep a dog she found wandering. She knew she needed a good excuse to convince me (Batya), because we already had five guard dogs.
Vision for Israel is continually blessed to have hard working and faithful volunteers who come to give a hand and do whatever is necessary to help us realize our goals in helping the needy.
“He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief…. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.” Isa 53: 3, 4
(quoted from a famous Israeli song)
Many of us pay little attention to the fact that in our society, more and more families are entering the circle of poverty.
Just recently, Israel’s National Insurance institute published the annual poverty report (for 2015), which discloses that almost every fifth family in Israel is below the poverty line, and every third child lives in poverty. These are very disturbing facts.
“This is what the Lord says, ‘I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City, and the mountain of the Lord Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.’” Zech 8:3
“Behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isa 60: 2-3
