When we met Ruchama* and found out she had run to a shelter to protect herself and her baby from physical danger, we knew we had to do something to make sure she would be safe until we could get her settled.
Faith and Hope
Her new situation is emotionally stressful. She left everything behind and as she is expecting to give birth to her second baby soon, there are three lives she has to worry about. She has no income and no place to live, and no family to support her. Thank God for the few friends she does have, and that she has been able to adjust quickly because of her strong faith and hope.
A Permanent Home
After a few months in a shelter, her first priority was finding a place to live. Having no income, having a baby and being pregnant made it almost impossible. No one from the local places we called was able to help. The single place who opened up was only willing to take her for a very short time. We welcomed her into our home until we could find her a more long-term place. The fact that Ruchama had to run away from home has given her emotional scars. She knows that she has so much to learn about sustaining herself and her children with the financial help she will receive.

to whom it is due,When it is in the power of your hand to do so"

Help to Manage Finances
Vision for Israel will continue to care for Ruchama and people like her who are in need of counseling to succeed in their new lives. We aim to provide them with professional advice to guide them in managing their finances and in finding a way to learn a profession or trade that will provide them with income. Our hope is that they will soon be able to stand on their feet, empowered with self-confidence and growing in faith.
Real Faithful Friends
In the far past of my life, I was once there and made it through, with God’s abundant blessings. My friends who stood with me and prayed me through this very challenging period of my life was the best gift from the Lord. They were the greatest examples of what love is all about.
"The bond between mothers and their children
is one defined by love. As a mother's prayers
for her children are unending, so are the
wisdom, grace, and strength they provide to their children."
~ GEORGE W. BUSH
Going Through Troubled Times
Throughout the years of Vision for Israel’s activities, we have learned that there are so many faces of hardship. We are not afraid of people going through troubled times – many of us have been there ourselves. But when we understand that God sees us through the low and high seasons, we can overcome the times of testing and not feel like victims of circumstance.
My experience years ago of facing a long court battle for custody of my only baby girl was a school for what came later. I have experienced what it is to be a single, young mother and so it was natural for us, as founders of Vision for Israel, to care for single mothers. I was blessed, as my family stood by me and supported me, even though they didn’t have much. What they had was love beyond measure.
Home is Made of Love
To create a home, you need love, faith, and finances. Vision for Israel is continually praying about how we can meet the needs of people like Ruchama who due to situations beyond their control are unable to support themselves and their families financially. The cost of running a household in Israel is high, there is little help from other sources and so many people turn to VFI for help with their monthly costs. VFI believes that caring for their lives is only possible
through your generous giving.
Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action.
~ MOTHER TERESA
Please consider partnering with us to help make a real difference in their lives.
"The generous soul will be made rich, And
he who waters will also be watered himself."
