Netanyahu To World Leaders: Where Are You?

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it”. Jn. 1:5

NETANYAHU TO WORLD LEADERS: WHERE ARE YOU? PM Netanyahu at Sunday morning's 7 July 2019 cabinet meeting addressed Iran’s declared plans to enrich Uranium beyond limits set in the 2015 deal. “Iran violated its solemn promise under the UN Security Council not to enrich uranium beyond a certain level. The enrichment of uranium is for one reason, and one reason only: The creation of atomic bombs.” The leaders of the P5+1 promised and committed themselves to snap back sanctions the minute Iran did that. It just did. Where are you?” Iranian chief nuclear negotiator Abbas Araghchi announced on Sunday that Iran will produce uranium at 5% enrichment, above the cap of 3.67%. Araghchi added that Iran’s reduction in its commitment to the 2015 deal would continue every 60 days. Iran had given enough time to diplomacy and its actions were not a violation of the deal, he asserted, adding that European governments had failed to fulfill their obligations under the deal. IRANIAN CLERIC: BRITAIN SHOULD BE ‘SCARED’: Britain should be “scared” about Iran’s possible retaliation for the capture of an Iranian supertanker by Royal Marines in Gibraltar, an Iranian cleric said Saturday 6 July 2019. “I am openly saying that Britain should be scared of Iran’s retaliatory measures over the illegal seizure of an Iranian oil tanker,” said Mohammad Ali Mousavi Jazayeri, a member of the powerful clerical body the Assembly of Experts. “We have shown that we will never remain silent against bullying. As we gave a staunch response to the American drone, the appropriate response to this illegal capture of the tanker will be given by Iran as well”. The British naval force on Thur. 4 July 2019 seized an Iranian oil tanker in Gibraltar on suspicion that it was carrying crude oil to Syria in what may be the first such interception under EU sanctions. Jazayeri’s comment came a day after an Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander threatened to seize a British ship in retaliation for the capture of the Iranian supertanker. The incident comes at a sensitive time in Iran-EU ties as the bloc mulls how to respond to Tehran announcing it will breach the maximum uranium enrichment level it agreed to in a 2015 nuclear deal. TEHRAN IMAM THREATENS MISSILE ATTACK ON DIMONA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT: "If Iran decides to confront you, a missile strike on the Dimona reactor would be enough," said Tehran's Imam Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani in a sermon on Friday 5 July 2019. Addressing the United States and Israel, Kermani threatened that such an attack on the nuclear reactor in Israel's Negev desert would "plow Israel 200 times. You are living in a glass house. You’d better watch out!" stated the Tehran Imam. Kermani also warned the USA against a military attack on Iran, saying, "think of an attack only if you want to change the color of the Persian Gulf waters from azure to red." Kermani was one of Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini's representatives to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to Radio Farda. On Sunday 7 July 2019 Iran announced that it will raise its uranium enrichment level to 5%, a concentration above the limit set by its 2015 nuclear agreement with six major powers. Earlier in the day, Iran’s Fars news agency reported that Iranian senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi will announce more cuts in its commitments to the pact on Sunday. Iran warned last week that such a move could take place. Karmeni also told USA President Donald Trump to "compare the United States' authority with Iran's. Iran's authority is marked by intelligence, creativity, and humanity, while the United States' authority is an embodiment of brutality, savagery, and meanness!" said Karmeni. (J.Post) Pray according to scripture: “Rise up, O God, and defend your cause; remember how fools mock you all day long. Do not ignore the clamor of your adversaries, the uproar of your enemies, which rises continually.” Ps 74: 22-23

RUSSIAN-LED ASSAULT IN SYRIA LEAVES OVER 500 CIVILIANS DEAD: At least 544 civilians have been killed and over 2,000 people injured since a Russian-led assault on the last rebel bastion in northwestern Syria began two months ago, rights groups and rescuers said on Saturday 6 July 2019. Russian jets joined the Syrian army on 26 April 2019 in the biggest offensive against parts of rebel-held Idlib province and adjoining northern Hama provinces in the biggest escalation in the war between Syrian President Bashar al Assad and his enemies since last summer. The Syrian Network for Human Rights,(SNHR), which monitors casualties and 19 various UN agencies, said the 544 civilians killed in the hundreds of attacks carried out by Russian jets and the Syrian army include 130 children. Another 2,117 people have been injured."The Russian military and its Syrian ally are deliberately targeting civilians with a record number of medical facilities bombed," Fadel Abdul Ghany, chairman of SNHR, told media sources. Russia and its Syrian army ally deny their jets hit indiscriminately civilian areas with cluster munitions and incendiary weapons, which residents in opposition areas say are meant to paralyze every-day life. Last month the USA based Human Rights Watch said the Russian-Syrian joint military operation had used cluster munitions and incendiary weapons in the attacks along with large air-dropped explosive weapons with wide-area effects in populated civilian areas, based on reports by first responders and witnesses.

Residents and rescuers say the two-month-old campaign has left dozens of villages and towns in ruins. According to the United Nations, at least 300,000 people have been forced to leave their homes for the safety of areas closer to the border with Turkey. "Whole villages and towns have been emptied," said Idlib-based Civil Defence spokesman Ahmad al Sheikho, saying it was the most destructive campaign against Idlib province since it completely fell to the opposition in the middle of 2015. On Friday 5 July 2019, 15 people including children, were killed in the village of Mhambil in western Idlib province after Syrian army helicopters dropped barrel bombs on a civilian quarter, the civil defense group and witnesses said. The heads of 11 major global humanitarian organizations warned at the end of last month that Idlib stood at the brink of disaster, with 3 million civilian lives at risk, including 1 million children. Last Thur. 4 July 2019 an aerial strike on Kafr Nabl hospital made it the 30th facility to be bombed during the campaign, leaving hundreds of thousands with no medical access, according to aid groups. "To have these medical facilities bombed and put out of service in less than two months is no accident. Let's call this by what it is, a war crime," Dr. Khaula Sawah, vice president of the USA-based Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations said in a statement. (J. Post)

ISRAELI EXPERTS SKEPTICAL ABOUT RUSSIA IN SYRIA: IDF Col. (res.) Ehud Evental, former head of the strategic planning unit of the Political-Military and Policy Bureau of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, told the Herzliya security conference last week that the Russians are playing all sides in Syria. They "give us some room to maneuver" to attack Iranian targets in Syria, but they also "give the Iranians freedom of action" to bring weapons into Syria.  Dr. Dmitry Adamsky, a professor at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy, and Strategy in Herzliya, said, "Russia is trying intentionally to position itself as part of the problem and also as part of the solution." That tactic is more informally described as playing arsonist and fireman: you help create a problem and then offer yourself as part of the solution. That creates leverage. SURVEY: 41 PERCENT OF YOUNG EUROPEAN JEWS HAVE CONSIDERED EMIGRATING: Forty-one percent of some 2,700 young Jews in Europe said in a poll that they have considered emigrating because they do not feel safe in their countries as Jews. The data comes from an analysis published Thur. 4 July of a  survey of over 16,000 Jews conducted by the EU’s Agency for Fundamental Rights. Among young respondents ages 16-34, 45% said they choose not to wear, carry or display distinguishable Jewish items in public because there are concerned about their safety. The young Jews surveyed come from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Overall, 44% of young Jewish Europeans surveyed said they had experienced anti-Semitic harassment, which is 12% higher than their elders in the survey of more than 16,000 respondents. Eighty percent of young victims do not report harassment to the police or any other authority, according to the survey. More than 80% of the young Jewish Europeans declared the strength of their Jewish identity to be high. Nearly two thirds, or 62%, of young respondents, said they have a “strong attachment” to Israel, a proportion nearly identical to their attachment level to their own countries. Only 35% reported having the same sentiment toward the EU. (INN)
