Our co-founder Batya Segal met Rachel* at one of Vision for Israel’s Hanukkah celebrations for victims of terrorist attacks. Touched by Rachel’s story, Batya shares: "She sat next to me with her partner. She’s a well-dressed, attractive woman who was born on a Kibbutz in the north of Israel. In 2001, she was injured in the terror attack at Sbarro's pizza in Jerusalem. She had come to Jerusalem for a job that she started just a few days earlier. On her way to work, she was one meter from the entrance to Sbarro's when a huge explosion threw her into the air. Rachel was injured physically, but even worse, emotionally. She went through numerous treatments and a rehabilitation process that lasted many years. Today, she is coping, but still dealing with the severe trauma, and it seems like this trauma will follow her for the rest of her life."
Vision for Israel continues to aid terror victims, whose lives were turned upside down in the blink of an eye. We support those who’ve been affected by terrorism, giving them a helping hand and sponsoring joyful events for them to attend.
